Thanks, Do you have a close up picture of it attaching to the rear end housing? I think mine might be broken and it’s hard to see because there a lot of thick grease everywhere.

I have a 66 galaxie convertible 7 litre that I inherited from my dad. I noticed that there is a small rubber tube with a metal connector hanging down near the rear axle. The other end is attached up to the body going no where. So it seems like it is a vent for something. Do you know where the end with the metal connector should be connected? I’ve looked through all your pics and I think I can almost see it in a couple but not 100%.

That’s is a vent for the rear end…the metal end screws in top of rear end housing and the other end doesn’t connect to anything…just ends inside the rear frame crossmember
